Adults

Individual therapy begins with a 20-minute, free phone consult. During this call, the therapist learns why you desire therapy and explains the Callanolia, LLC approach of collaborative, holistic mind and body therapies. The Callanolia, LLC way is person-centered, attachment-based, body-oriented, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and systematically focused—in short—safely helping you understand yourself on a deeper level using science-based approaches. If after the phone consultation, you feel comfortable moving forward, you will set up a 50-minute intake session. In this session, you will meet the therapist, set the intentions for therapy, understand privacy and confidentiality, and get an overall feel for the therapist. If determining the relationship would be a good fit, which Callanolia, LLC believes to be of the utmost importance, 50-minute sessions are scheduled.

Teens (14-17)

For teens looking for therapy: therapy begins the same way, except with the caregiver/parent doing the 20-minute phone consult with the therapist, the teen is welcome too. If after the phone consult, the caregiver and therapist feel comfortable moving forward, the intake session will be scheduled for parents and teen. This session will be divided in half, with the first half being the therapist, caregiver(s), and teen, and then the second half just the therapist and teen. The therapist will empower the teen to make the decision if the therapist feels like the right fit and discuss this with their caregivers. After that, they will set up the 50-minute weekly sessions. Parents/caregivers are involved to varying degrees at the teen and therapist’s discretion. During a session, the therapist may spend time with the adolescent or the caregiver(s) both together and separately. How this looks will be discussed in the first session.
