Yoga Therapy

What Is Yoga Therapy?

“Yoga therapy is that facet of the ancient science of Yoga that focuses on health and wellness at all levels of the person: physical, psychological, and spiritual. Yoga therapy focuses on the path of Yoga as a healing journey that brings balance to the body and mind through an experiential understanding of the primary intention of Yoga: awakening of Spirit, our essential nature.” -Joseph LePage, MA

How it works

Yoga therapy for individuals or couples begins with a 20-minute, free phone consult. During this call, the therapist learns why you desire yoga therapy and explains Callanolia’s trauma-informed approach to yoga therapy. This consult is followed by a 50-minute intake session where you meet your yoga therapist, set the intentions for yoga therapy, and understand privacy and confidentiality. In this session, your yoga therapist can address your needs and explain their methodology. Typically, you will engage in a bit of movement. If after determining the relationship would be a good fit, 50-minute sessions are scheduled. In full sessions, clients will start movement, breathwork, meditation, or some combination of these. Clients take home a tracking sheet with exercises to do at home and also receive an email detailing how to continue their session work at home.
